Our mechanical investigation service is performed under both Shire Firefact and All Motor Vehicle Investigations (AMVI)
Shire Firefact’s mechanical investigators are independent and highly dedicated, providing thorough and comprehensive vehicle examinations. They hold all current motor vehicle trade qualifications and relevant licensing.
Our mechanical investigators are active members of key industry associations, including the Motor Vehicle Repair Industry Association (MVRIA), the Australasian and South Pacific Association of Collision Investigators (ASPACI), the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI), the NSW Association of Fire Investigators (NSWAFI), and the International Association of Auto Theft Investigators (IAATI). Since 2009, they have provided expert mechanical examinations to a wide range of clients, such as leading insurers, law firms, the NSW Police Force, private clients, and other investigation firms. Our senior examiner has over 40 years of involvement within the automotive industry, holding the Transport for NSW examiner/proprietor authorisation for over 30 years.
- Crash Data Retrieval & Interpretation: Expertise in extracting and analyzing crash data.
- Diagnostic Scanning: Identifying pre-existing and current vehicle faults, including immobiliser status.
- Fluid Analysis: Extraction and sampling of oil and water to pinpoint mechanical faults or detect town water presence.
- Mechanical Safety Inspections: Verification of vehicle roadworthiness before theft or accidents.
- Transport for NSW Authorised Examinations: Legally inspecting vehicle roadworthiness in accordance with National Road Safety laws to determine if mechanical/electrical faults caused or contributed to serious or fatal collisions.
- Expert Witness Testimony: Proven experience providing testimony in local and district courts for motor vehicle matters.
- Compliance Audits: Ability to examine driver qualifications, audit logbooks, and review other transport or industry compliance materials as needed.
